In this sequel to the 2012 film Rowdy Rathore,[1] Ajay Devgan reprises his role as ACP Jai Dixit while Sonakshi Sinha returns as Sonia Jain.[2] The film dives into the life of a man who will go to any lengths to rescue his daughter from her kidnappers. In the opening scene, ACP Dixit is shown urinating in a water tank. He tells his colleague Shiv Sena to kidnap actor Ranveer Singh for a ransom of ₹ 100 crores. In the next scene, he meets his wife Preeti at a park where they have a playful banter and go home together. Next morning, Jai Dixit has a meeting with Suraj Karadi who is revealed to be Rahul Bhatnagar's lawyer and lead character's estranged uncle. Jai Dixit says he wants to trace his daughter Preeti and asks Suraj Karadi to provide him information about her whereabouts. Instead, Karadi sends him to meet an unknown man in Goa. The man takes him to a spa where Jai Dixit meets his sister-in-law Jasleen Kaur, who introduces him to her family members. Jai Dixit gets into the spa house by befriending their maid and taking her salary after she leaves. He breaks into the bathroom looking for clues about his daughter. But he only finds the photos of Ranveer Singh, which makes him suspect Karadi who was trying to send him there. After this, he begins dozing off at work because of fears about Preeti's whereabouts. Meanwhile, his missing team members meet with an officer regarding Jai Dixit's absence. After this, Karadi talks to him on the phone and tells him that his daughter is in the hands of Satyajit Rathore. Jai Dixit goes to Kolkata to meet Satyajit Rathore where he is made to go through an extensive security check before entering the mansion. Inside, Jai Dixit sees Preeti in a cell and attempts to rescue her but she flees with the kidnap gangster Johnny's henchmen chasing her. As Jai Dixit returns home, he is attacked by two men sent by Satyajit Rathore. He manages to defeat them and informs his superior about the kidnapping gang. Karadi asks him to go back to Goa where Jai Dixit asks Jasleen about Ranveer Singh who is actually her husband. After this, he decides to go back home with Preeti. But soon after reaching Police Headquarters, he receives a message saying "Satyajit Rathore knows where your daughter is". His superior sends him on an assignment to trace Preeti's kidnappers. They finally trace them in Goa but they kill one of their team members before escaping.
